Abertay University is in Dundee and offers many courses which range from forensic, sport and food sciences to biotechnology, cybersecurity and computer games. The university offers these courses under four schools namely:

School of Design and Informatics
The School of Design and Informatics has three specialised division namely:
- Division of Games Technology and Mathematics
- Division of Cybersecurity
- Division of Games and Arts
The school has strong links with industry and major companies. The school is also a founding partner of Sony’s PlayStation First Education programme and all the courses are accredited by professional bodies such as:
- Screen Skills
- National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC)
The Division of Games Technology and Mathematics is designated the National Centre of Excellence in Computer Games Education. The school is the largest PlayStation teaching lab in Europe. The division offers expertise in areas including computer graphics and visualization, real-time animation, complex systems, applied games and much more. The division has facilities including:
- The PlayStation Lab
- Emergent Technology Centre and G Testbed
- Usability Lab
- Professional grade sound and audio recording studio
The Division of Cybersecurity offers substantial expertise in the areas including cybersecurity, ethical hacking, penetration testing, digital forensic, human-computer interaction and much more. Abertay is the first university to offer degrees in Ethical Hacking and Computer Games Technology. The school focuses on providing laboratory-based teaching and has well-equipped laboratories for:
- Ethical Hacking
- The Internet of Things
- General Software Development
The Division of Games and Arts has dedicated development studios and project spaces such as:
- A 3D modelling, animation and motion capture studio
- 3D printing and emergent technology lab
- A Professional-grade sound and audio recording studio
- A Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality lab
- A Life drawing studio
School of Applied Sciences
The school offers a variety of courses under four specialized divisions namely:
- Division of Engineering and Food Science
- Division of Health Sciences
- Division of Psychology and Forensic Sciences
- Division of Sport and Exercise Sciences
The Division of Engineering and Food Sciences provides many subjects including civil engineering, consumer science, environmental engineering & management and food & nutrition. The schools have well equipped laboratories for practical-based teaching to the students. The laboratories include the Consumer Experience laboratory, the Process Lab, Chemical science laboratory, Geotechnical engineering laboratory, Structural engineering laboratory, GIS computer lab and the Public Health laboratory.
The Division of Health Science offers courses including Nursing, Biomedical Science and Psychology. All the courses are accredited to respective professional bodies which ensures the quality of teaching. The Biomedical Science degree offered by the school is accredited to the IBMS and is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). The facilities of the school include the Clinical Skills Suite and the Biomedical Science Labs.
The Division of Psychology and Forensic Sciences has two main subject areas which include Psychology and Forensic Science. All the Psychology courses are accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and all the Forensic Science courses are accredited by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences. The school has twelve dedicated research labs which are equipped with High-end PCs and many appropriate software such as Paradigm, SPSS, PsychoPy etc. and hardware include wall mounted remote controlled CCTV cameras, SMI 3.0 Eye View Eye-movement recorder, Eye-tracker and more.
The Division of Sport and Exercise Sciences allows students to explore subject areas including Physiology, Psychology, Biomechanics and Social Policy and Sport Development. The courses include working in State-of-the-Art laboratories. The facilities of the division include two designated Human Performance Laboratories and a Strength and Conditioning Laboratory for physiological measurement. The other facilities include EMG and ECG equipment, upper and lower body cycle ergometers, treadmills, accelerometry, GSR equipment and software and much more.
School of Business, Law and Social Sciences
The school offers a broad range of degrees from Accounting, Human Resources, Sociology, Marketing and more under three distinct divisions namely:
- Division of Sociology
- Division of Law
- Division of Accounting, Business and Management.
The Division of Sociology provides courses in subject areas including Sociology, Criminology and Social Science
The Division of Law offers many courses. However, LLB is accredited with the Law Society of Scotland and the Faculty of Advocates.
The Graduate School is located in the heart of the University and it is specially designed for collaborative working and to learn together all the subject areas ranging from Environmental, Management to Law, Psychology, Bioscience, Economics and Business, Cybersecurity and Computer Games. The Graduate School has three predominant divisions namely:
- Postgraduate Research
- Postgraduate Taught
- Research Development
