School of Music

The School of Music offers undergraduate courses in the following subject areas:

The school helps them to get performing opportunities in Symphony, Wind, Opera, and Chamber Orchestras, and a diverse range of ensembles including Big Band and Royal Conservatoire Brass. They perform in various countries such as China, Malta, Germany and Brazil. The facilities that are available in the school includes the following:

Apart from offering postgraduate and undergraduate courses, the school also offers short courses for children and young people and adults where they have respective summer schools and audition preparation.


The Dance school offers Modern Ballet programme in partnership with the Scottish Ballet. The school has many facilities that are required in teaching dance such as:

  • The Wallace studio
  • Houses four large high-specification dance studios
  • Dressing rooms, showers and a fitness room complete with gyrotonics® equipment
  • Within the dance studios – physiotherapy sessions, Pilates, trx classes and massage.
  • All four of the dance studios come with a piano, a playback system and have access to dressing rooms and showers.

The school also has Junior Conservatoire of Dance which has three divisions such as Pre-Juniors, Contemporary Dance and the Modern Ballet. The school also offers dance short courses for children and young people and for adults.


The Drama school offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the areas of

  • Musical Theatre
  • Performance in British Sign Language and English
  • Theatre – Performance and Choreography

The school has partnerships with reputed organizations including BBC, the National Theatre of Scotland, and the Citizens Theatre. The school also offers a wide range of international opportunities during the period of study precisely – Opportunity to participate in our European and International activities; European Young Theatre at the Festival Dei Due Mondi, Spoleto (Italy), the International Festival of Theatre Schools SETKÁNÍ/ENCOUNTER in Brno (Czech Republic) and the World Theatre Games in St Petersburg (Russia) and more.

The school facilitates exchange programmes with institutions across other countries such as Carnegie Mellon University, Pennsylvania (USA) and Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).

The school offers various facilities to provide practical based learning to the students. The facilities include the Wallace Studios at Speirs Locks has purpose-built production workshops and design studios and the Renfrew Street building houses five public performance spaces including a fully-equipped proscenium arch theatre and a black box studio theatre; Renfrew Street building; New Athenaeum Theatre; Chandler Studio.


The school offers undergraduate course in BA Film making with all the basic facilities that the students will require during their period of study. The facilities of the school include BlackMagic Pocket Camera — 6K; classroom with 18 iMacs all equipped with Avid Media Composer software.
